After he helped her to get out of a psychiatric clinic, Alan now has to face his ex-girlfriend Christine as an opponent in court. Lori is appointed to help Alan. Sally has her first real case of which she has got to take care all by herself and it isn't going very good for her.
The room is filled with various patients, including an older, African American man with Tourette’s syndrome yelling “Bats on the run!”, and a younger Caucasian woman with multiple scars on her arm. A woman is ushered into the room by a psych nurse and taken to a long table where Alan Shore is seated, hunched over a jigsaw puzzle.
