Mar 26, 2024 · The garden has been in its current location in Dartry, Dublin 6 since 1967, but it has a long and varied history dating back to its inception as a Physic garden in 1687 to support the teaching of medicine. It is one of the earliest established botanic gardens in the UK and Ireland and the only dedicated university botanic garden in Ireland.
Jun 17, 2020 · Located in Dublin’s sleepy Glasnevin suburb, the National Botanic Gardens are one of the city’s real treasures. Every time I go I feel a real sense of refreshment leaving the Gardens. They are a wonderful (and free) resource for the capitals inhabitants and tourists.
