Mar 21, 2013 · Box of Rain was my first Grateful Dead song because American Beauty was the first album of theirs I bought. I always wished they had played it during their acoustic sets in 1970 as it no doubt would have been amazing. To me the electric versions of this song have never equaled the masterpiece that is the original.
