Boyfriend to Death has its own different mature content depending on the routes you go for.
The protagonist must try to survive for as long as possible while being held captive by one of the main characters.
Protagonist: The largely undefined main character. This non-gender specific character, who is named by the player at the start of the game, is intended to have a vague personality and background. The only solid details that the game provides for the protagonist are that they are a college student who has a bit of a drinking problem.
Strade: The cheerful and easily overexcited psychopath found when the player chooses to go to the Braying Mule at the start of the game.
Rire: A charming and powerful demon who can summon tentacles to aid him at will. He is fond of arranging "games" to play with the protagonist. He can be found by going to the Snapdragon at the game's beginning.
Sano Kojima: A calculating man with a chilly demeanor and a knack for performing human experimentation. He can be found by choosing to go to the Snake Pit when the game starts.
Akira Kojima: Sano's twin brother. He can be very cheerful at times, but displays a short temper when it comes to his brother. He can be found at the Snake Pit after the player first speaks to Sano.
Ren: A fox Beastkin forced to live with Strade. Although he has suffered years of abuse at Strade's hands, Ren greatly admires and looks up to him, due to severe Stockholm syndrome. He can be found in Strade's route.
•The concept was originally just a joke between friends.
•Electricpuke is no longer affiliated with the franchise.
•Due to it's age, it's only available as a single all-purpose download that doesn't work on newer Mac systems.
•The game contained over 36,000 words of in-game script.
•Rire and Strade's origins were inspired by the Invader Zim franchise before they developed into fully-fleshed out characters.
•Shaun was created by Morthern. Although not seen in game, Shaun has a human form.
