Jan 29, 2024 · Brannon Braga and Rick Berman originally wanted Star Trek: Enterprise to be set on Earth and focus on the building of the first starship, but the studio insisted on a more traditional space-based show. The studio initially didn't want a prequel and forced the inclusion of the Temporal Cold War storyline to add a futuristic element to the series.
