The pound sign ( £) is the symbol for the pound unit of sterling – the currency of the United Kingdom and its associated Crown Dependencies and British Overseas Territories and previously of Great Britain and of the Kingdom of England. Place your cursor where you want to insert the pound character. Type the Unicode 00A3 on your document. Press Alt and X and then release the both keys. The pound (£) should now appear in your text.
