Jun 19, 2018 · Simply hold the Alt key and then type the four-digit code on the numeric keypad. To type a £ sign, you would hold the Alt key and them type 0163. To type a € sign, press Alt and type 0128 and it will appear in the text box or document. You can also type the squared symbol or a degree symbol, among others.
Oct 3, 2014 · Alt + 3 should do it. This works on US keyboard settings without modifying anything, out of the box. £! If you are using a mac labeled keyboard, it will be Option + 3. Today, as far as I can tell, on my Macbook Pro with a US keyboard setting, you need the "fn" key to press Alt as described here and (fn)Alt+3 will do a £.
Dec 7, 2018 · I suggest that you try the following: Create a new computer user account. Log out of your existing account, and then, log in with the new account. Can you get the pound sign with the new account? If not, try resetting your notebook's System Management Controller.
