May 12, 2004 · The filler neck (partially seen in the second picture) was supplied, but for some reason, didn't fit right "out-of-the-box". :redface: There weren't enough "bends" in it to get to the area behind the license plate, so Brian Cotton (who did the installation for me) had to re-work it to make it fit, but other than that, no fitment problem.:wink:

  2. Nov 5, 2006 · Problem is still there even after a new gas tank several years ago. I gave up and just fill it up slowly-mostly holding the pump handle manually. I did finally get rid of the stupid license plate bracket and got a stay down version.

Aug 15, 2001 · I drove my 69 Wildcat everyday for about 7 years and my trick to filling the tank (also filler behind the rear license plate) was to find a station with a slight downhill grade - it made a difference of 4-5 gallons to "fill" the tank versus filling at stations with an uphill grade.

  4. Jul 12, 2008 · Remove the Schrader valve on the end of the fuel rail. Clamp a long 4-5 foot hose on it and place the other end in a container or another car's fuel tank. Behind the alternator you will find an electrical connector which will activate the fuel pump. Run a wire from the battery to the connector.

  5. Jul 30, 2014 · #1. I keep coming across posts claiming that the original rear license plate doesn't stay down. Actually, it was designed to stay down with the help of your gas cap.   7. May 29, 2001 · Theye are really difficult to work with. They seal so good that you have to spend about 45 minutes to fill your tank. *squeeze, click..squezze, click..squezze,click..etc. I have to hold the "really tight" pressure sealant neck away from the filler when I gas up. Just thought I would throw that out there.
