It stars Malcolm McDowell, Teresa Ann Savoy, Helen Mirren, Peter O'Toole, John Steiner and John Gielgud. It is the only feature film produced by the men's magazine Penthouse.

This includes the infamous boat scene (although a tiny clip of the original scene might be in the film still, when Caligula goes mad during a Senate meeting). You can hear him commenting on details that seem unrelated to what's actually happening. Most of the lost footage now exists as lobby card stills and written documentation.
