Yeah Citra's ability to set two different windows for the 2 3DS screens is excellent, I recently played through a game with bottom DS screen on laptop underneath a desktop monitor showing the 3DS top screen. It was great.

The other big departure for this series was the inclusion of multiplayer. Three people in total can play co-op through the campaign and make things easier. Th...

Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin was the second Castlevania game to hit the DS, and it too was a traditional Metroidvania. Most portable games from this series at this time had a gimmick to them besides some touch-based mechanics. Instead of one character, players could swap between Jonathan and Charlotte on the fly. In co-op, the other player would t...

While many of the games that allow two players in the Kirby Super Star Ultracollection don’t need co-op to be easier, the sensation ...

While not super unique, Sonic rush and rush adventure used the dual screens to give the games a sense of verticality that you don't get in other sonic games: The world ends with you is probably one of the more known examples of using the dual screens in a unique way. In the DS version of TWEWY, you have to fight effectively ...

  6. Advance Wars: Dual Strike is the gold standard for strategy games on the DS. The third entry in the Advance Wars series jumped to the dual-screen by doubling the number of Commanding Officers you take into battle, which opens the door to some compelling strategies.
