The short film corner is a scam IMO, designed to take money from desperate filmmakers who are fooled by the Cannes name. Sure it might lead to something for an occasional person who gets ridiculously lucky, but for the most part it is a huge waste of time. Unless of course you just want to go to the festival and have $5k+ to blow.
