Until she was published as a novelist, Brown wrote a weekly newspaper column that won several Oklahoma Press Association awards.
Brown sold her first two books to Kensington Publishing Company in 1997. Since that time she has published more than 90 books in the romance and women's fiction categories through Avalon Publishing, Sourcebooks Publishing, Amazon Publishing, and Grand Central Publishing under the Forever Imprint.
