An ancient Egyptian vampire Miriam (Catherine Deneuve) lives in modern-day New York with her lover John (David Bowie), a fellow vampire that she converted some 300 years earlier. John, who is aware of her previous lovers over the centuries and their ultimate fates of sudden aging, discovers that he has himself suddenly begun to age.
