attorney general of iowa for six years Judge Charles W. M Mullan, judge of the district court, died Thursday afternoon at the Mayo Brothers’ hospital in Rochester, Minn. He underwent an operation three weeks ago but his health has been failing since last fall.
In 1897 he was elected on the Republican ticket State Senator from the district composed of the counties of Black Hawk and Grundy, serving in the Twenty-seventh and Twenty-eighth General Assemblies. He resigned before the expiration of his term to accept the office of Attorney-General to which he was elected in 1900.
Judge Mullan has served the township, city, county and state in various political positions, having been a member of the school board of Waterloo Township; city attorney for six years, county attorney six years, state senator from 1897 to 1900, and attorney general of Iowa from 1901 to 1907.
He was a Republican. From 1898 to 1902, Mullan served in the Iowa State Senate. From 1901 to 1907, Mullan served as Iowa Attorney General. Then from 1913 until his death in 1919, Mullan served as an Iowa District Court judge. Mullan died at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota after undergoing surgery. Notes []
