Feb 3, 2023 · After serving two years for manslaughter, Charles Dutton was released, only to be sent back to prison to serve three years more for a weapons charge. He wound up in the Maryland State Penitentiary building he used to see out his old bedroom window (via The New York Times and The Washington Post ).
After the knife fight, Dutton pleaded guilty in 1967 to manslaughter and was sentenced to five years in prison, which he began serving at the Maryland House of Correction in Jessup, Maryland. Out on parole after 18 or 20 months, [notes 1] he was arrested on robbery and handgun charges. [7]
