Jun 28, 2023 · After the death of C.S. Mott it was renamed C.S. Mott Community College (1973-1975) and later shortened to Mott Community College (1975-present). Occasionally it has been given the full name of Charles Stewart Mott Community College or sometimes simply Mott College.
Charles Stewart Mott Community College, as it is officially named, has had three other names throughout history. This most recent change occurred on June 2, 1973 as part of the College's 50th anniversary celebrations.
In 1973, it was renamed to Charles Stewart Mott College after the death of C.S. Mott. Athletics. MCC's sports teams are called the Bears. Their Men's Basketball team won the 2003, 2007, 2008, and 2012 national NJCAA Men's Division II Basketball Championship games. In 2001, 2004, and 2011 they were the division runners-up.
