1977. CHFI-FM was allowed to play more classical music between midnight and 5:00 a.m., rather than before midnight. CHFI developed and adapted a new process for transferring program material to tape cartridge. The system was developed by Ron Turnpenny, vice president of engineering for Rogers Radio Broadcasting.
