In 2013 and then again in 2019, the Ohio Arts Council granted her an award for Individual Artistic Excellence for her ongoing traveling painting project, Chicks with Balls: Judy Takács paints unsung female heroes. Chicks made its debut at BAYarts in 2013 and has traveled through Ohio and Pennsylvania since.
This exhibition features twenty paintings of twenty inspiring women—Chicks with Balls or CWB. Posing partially nude and holding all types of balls that are both playful metaphors and thoughtful symbols representing strength and struggle, Takács paints each woman's inner and outer beauty with deft sensitivity.
