It’s still nostalgia-based music, although not really fully in the 80s box. It’s not quite chillwave either. Chillwave also features a lot of reverb too, however as a genre it is centered around a lo-fi pop sound, whereas chillsynth is centered more around a dreamy lo-fi synthwave sound.
