Napoleon at this stage in history was filled with energy, youth, creativity, flair, bombast, gumption, and yes, idealism even. This is a total mismatch of what Joaquin seems to be channeling. His performance needed to have been saved for Act III, film III, depressed, overweight, cynical, out of touch, and burned out Napoleon.
