Mini Bio. Christian Williams was an editor and reporter for The Washington Post before moving west to write for "Hill Street Blues" in 1987. With David Milch he created the series "Capital News" for ABC, and for Universal Studios the phenomenal worldwide success "Hercules".
Christian Williams is arguably the most erudite sailor since Francis Chichester. In the back of “The Philosophy of Sailing,” he lists nautical terms used in the book, an evaluation of the parts he used to retrofit his boat, and a list of philosophy books.
He is the author of "Rarotonga," a novel (2019); "Lead, Follow or Get Out of the Way," a biography of Ted Turner (Times Books, 1981); "Alone Together: Sailing Solo to Hawaii and Beyond" (East Wind Press, 2016) and "Philosophy of Sailing" (2018). Williams has four children and lives in Pacific Palisades, CA, with his spouse, Tracy Olmstead Williams.
