Cinderella is a 1950 American animated romantic musical fantasy film produced by Walt Disney and released by RKO Radio Pictures. Based on the fairy tale Cendrillon by Charles Perrault, it was released on February 15, 1950. The film was directed by Clyde Geronimi, Hamilton Luske and Wilfred Jackson.
Overview. After the success of the live 1957 Cinderella on CBS (with Julie Andrews), the network decided to produce another television version. The new script hewed closer to the traditional tale, although nearly all of the original songs were retained and performed in their original settings.
A fairy godmother (Celeste Holm) transforms a young woman (Lesley Ann Warren) and sends her to a ball where she meets a charming prince (Stuart Damon).
