City of Angels School is both LAUSD's K-12 "In Person" Independent Study school. It offers students a full-time educational program through weekly in person appointments. It is designed for students with special interests and abilities, scheduling problems, or individual needs that cannot be accommodated in the traditional school setting.

Instructional sites house 2 to 5 teachers and are located in community centers, churches, LAUSD-owned properties, and commercial buildings in the many neighborhoods in which the students reside.
City of Angels School is comprised of 93 teachers: 80 high school teachers, 10 middle school teachers and 3 elementary school teachers. Our teaching staff is highly qualified and has a higher percentage of fully credentialed teachers than the District; their average years of teaching is more than double that of LAUSD.
Sometimes called the “best kept secret” in Los Angeles, City of Angels Independent Study School serves 2500 Kindergarten through 12th Grade students with almost one hundred teachers located throughout Los Angeles at 27 different locations. A complete list of the locations is located on the website.
