Mar 8, 2010 · New to the audio forum. Randomly surfing; wound up on eBay typing "miata" and stumbled across "Clearwater" brand speakers. Went to their [simple] web site and was favorably impressed by their miata-focus. I've got a '97 with headrest speakers. Anyone tried Clearwaters? Thoughts?

Find me a set of .5 ohm 8" door speakers that aren't Clearwater or Bose. I understand that you can do cheaper speakers. Mounting and wiring isn't a big deal. But, considering you need a new head unit to run standard speakers the price still adds up. Th reason I spend my $$$ wasn't a fear of drilling holes or splicing wires.
Mar 8, 2010 · I replaced my original Bose speakers with the Clearwater set. Although expensive at the time ($400), they were the only 1 ohm speaker set available. The Clearwater speakers sound great and I am very pleased with the purchase. I believe they are a good choice considering the alternative is a complete audio replacement.
