Through its Writers & Readers, Writers Unplugged and Ohio Center for the Book, Cleveland Public Library engages authors, academics and public figures in discussions surrounding the books and stories that have shaped their lives and how the craft of writing has evolved.
Cleveland READS enabled the library to make progress toward our strategic priority to Close the Gaps, addressing inequalities facing our city. The benefits of a literate community are not limited to education and students, but affect social welfare, workforce development and even health care.

Nov 30, 2022 · The goal is for the entire city to collectively read one million books and/or one million minutes in 2023. We’re encouraging all city residents to sign up online at clevelandreads.com and to use the website throughout 2023 to log their books and the minutes they spend reading.
