Commack (/ ˈ k oʊ m æ k / KOH-mak) is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the towns of Huntington and Smithtown in Suffolk County, on Long Island, in New York. The CDP's population was 36,124 at the 2010 census.
Burr and his father built Suffolk County's first one-mile trotting track on the spot that Commack High School stands today. Horse racing fans from all over Long Island and New York City flocked to watch trotting races until laws against betting on the ponies came about in 1900. The track disappeared about 15 years later.

Marion Carll Farm is a historic home and property located in Commack, Suffolk County, New York. It consists of the 1860 farmhouse, privy, garage, smokehouse, milk house, horse barn/carriage house, sheep barn, and four smaller barns. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
