Mar 1, 2024 · March 1, 2024 – DOH supports new CDC guidelines on COVID-19. The new guidelines reflect the current level of risk, while still protecting the most vulnerable. The advisement eases some restrictions and more closely aligns COVID-19 with the broader category of respiratory viruses, which include influenza and RSV (respiratory syncytial virus).

At this time, there are no pandemic travel-related restrictions for domestic travelers, and neither the Governor's office nor island mayors have indicated they plan to reintroduce any restrictions. There are no COVID-19 related entry requirements for domestic travelers. Travelers arriving in Hawai‘i directly from an international airport must still comply with U.S. federal requirements. For updates on international travel, visit CDC.gov.
IN-FLIGHT AND ARRIVAL. The federal mask mandate has ended on April 18, and masks are no longer required in airports. Many airlines have also relaxed their mask rules and it’s now optional to wear on a plane. Hawaiʻi’s indoor mask mandate ended on March 25, 2022.
