Crescent Solitaire is a Solitaire variation sometimes referred to as La Demi-Lune that is played with two decks of cards. It’s similar to La Belle Lucie, a game that dates back to 1870. The game gets its name from the shape of the card layout in the game. The tableau cards are laid out below two foundation piles, forming a crescent shape.

    Objective

Your goal is to move all cards in the tableau to 8 foundation piles.

    The Setup and Play Area

Foundation piles: There are two foundation areas, each with 4 piles, making 8 foundation piles. The games start with 4 Aces in one foundation area, where cards need to be placed in ascending order by suit, and 4 Kings in the other foundation area, where cards need to be placed in decending order by suit. Tableau:This is the area with 16 columns of 6 face-up cards in each column. This is where you’ll sequence the cards. Stock and waste pile:There is no stock or waste pile.

    Available moves

    1. Foundations that start with a King are built in descending order. 2. Foundations that start with an Ace are built in ascending order. 3. Cards at the bottom of the tableau can be moved to the foundation or placed on another card at the bottom of another tableau column that is either one rank higher or lower of the same suit. 4. You cannot move groups of cards. Cards can only be moved individually. 5. Empty columns cannot be filled.

The first visible sequence may not always be the best one. Because cards are all visible in the tableau, plan out your moves to remove as many cards as possible from the tableau.
Prioritize revealing and getting reserve cards into the game. Focus on creating empty tableau columns to do this.
Try to make low cards available so you can move them to the foundation with Aces, and similarly, make high cards available so you can move them to the foundation with Kings.
