Crystal Bernard was born in Garland, Texas, U.S., on 30 September 1961. Moving towards her family, she was raised in a Southern Baptist home, and her father Dr. Jerry Wayne Bernard, who was a televangelist traveled across the US preaching and singing. Crystal followed her father's footsteps, and she started singing gospel songs in the church choir at a tender age, alongside her elder sister, Robyn. While talking about her education, Crystal spent her younger days in Bammel Middle School. Later, she attended the Spring High School, following her university days at Baylor University.
