May 6, 2024 · Cummins Falls is a relatively newer state park, created in 2011. It has a very nice visitors’ center, which included an interpretive center and some knowledgeable and helpful rangers. And the trail that takes you through the park to the falls overlook and through the woods is well-maintained, too.
The falls plunge 75 feet into a scenic, rocky gorge that has been a favorite swimming spot for locals and tourists for over a century. Access to the gorge and the waterfall requires a hike and some rock scrambling, which adds to the sense of adventure as you approach the falls.
