  2. Sep 06, 2021 · It's the D+ warning lamp terminal you are looking for. If the lamp stays on, it is not a charge warning lamp unless there is a short circuit on that wire somewhere. As long as the lamp is about normal brightness, I would suspect the alternator before the batteries and low alternator output would cause domestic battery failing symptoms over time.

Overall, wiring the install proved quite easy with pre-cut wires like these. Sure, you can buy crimpers and make your own, but why bother for such a small project?

Then at the alternator, plug the AL wire into the D+ terminal. You will need a good light bulb in the dash and it cannot be an LED. (If you don’t want the dash light, you can plug your F+ wire into D+ and tape off the AL.)

So start with getting rid of it and connect it as the manual describes. The DCDC charger is not designed to be connected to the alternator, but to another battery. The Renogy should have a D+ terminal.
