D grade sheets. If a student got a D grade sheet, that means he/she is hardly passing. D lies between 60-68%. So, if your grade has above 60% then it is considered just a pass/simple pass. It is dependent on your post-college plans. If you’re applying to graduate school, a D may be a problem, but you must also consider other factors.
If you fail a class in college that you’re taking for a letter grade, how it gets handled is going to depend on your school’s policy. Some will allow you to retake the class and replace the grade entirely. Others will allow you to retake the class and average the two grades. Your school might have a different policy than this altogether.

To calculate your average grade, follow these steps: Multiple each grade by its weight. In this example, you received a 90% on the first assignment and it was worth 10%. So multiply 90 x 10 = 900. You also received an 80% on the test and it was worth 20% of the class grade. So multiply 80 x 20 = 1600.
Each letter grade has a grade point equivalent ranging from 4.0 to 0.0. An A is worth 4.0 grade points, an A- is worth 3.7 grade points, etc. The grade points for each class are then used to calculate a grade point average (GPA) for all of a student's classes.
