Nazareth, whose drummer and founder member Darrell Sweet suffered a fatal heart attack while on tour in America, proved that hard work could pay off.
While on tour in 1999, original drummer Darrell Sweet died at age 51 of a heart attack. He was replaced by bassist Pete Agnew's son Lee for later editions of the band.
Apr 30, 1999 · In late April 1999, Nazareth arrived at the New Albany Amphitheater in New Albany, Indiana to perform a concert when Sweet was stricken. Within minutes, he suffered a heart attack and was taken to nearby Floyd Memorial Hospital. He died of a heart attack seventeen days before his 52nd birthday. He was 51.
