Dearborn is a city in Wayne County, Michigan, United States. It is an inner-ring suburb of Detroit, bordering the city to the south and west and being roughly 7 miles (11.3 km) west of downtown Detroit. In the 2020 census, it had a population of 109,976, ranking as the seventh-most populous city in Michigan.
Two Downtowns, One City. The place we call Dearborn today is the result of the merger of two separate cities. On January 9, 1929, voters approved a charter to merge the cities of Fordson and Dearborn. Clyde M. Ford was sworn into office as Mayor of the consolidated Dearborn one week later.
