      Endocytosis

      • The dengue virus attaches to the surface of a host cell and enters the cell by a process called endocytosis. Once deep inside the cell, the virus fuses with the endosomal membrane and is released into the cytoplasm. The virus particle comes apart, releasing the viral genome.

  2. Nov 24, 2020 · Dengue is a mosquito-borne Flavivirus infection, primarily transmitted by Aedes aegypti followed by Aedes albopictus mosquito and other species of genus Aedes [ 1, 4]. There are four serotypes of dengue virus which are antigenically distinct namely DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3, and DENV-4 [ 5 ].

  3. Abstract. The pathogenesis of dengue virus infection is attributed to complex interplay between virus, host genes and host immune response. Host factors such as antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE), memory cross-reactive T cells, anti-DENV NS1 antibodies, autoimmunity as well as genetic factors are major determinants of disease susceptibility.
