Descendants of Winston Churchill. Sir Winston Churchill, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom between 10 May 1940 – 26 July 1945 and 26 October 1951 – 6 April 1955, was the eldest son of Lord and Lady Randolph Churchill, and grandson of the 7th Duke of Marlborough .
Churchill was born at the family's ancestral home, Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, on 30 November 1874, at which time the United Kingdom was the dominant world power. Direct descendants of the Dukes of Marlborough, his family were among the highest levels of the British aristocracy, and thus he was born into the country's governing elite.
