We’re one of the few truly international marathon courses in the world! A true showcase of Detroit, the course features iconic neighborhoods like the historic Woodbridge, the District Detroit, Eastern Market, the Dequindre Cut and a finish line at the foot of Campus Martius.
The Detroit Free Press Marathon is a 42.195-kilometre (26.219 mi) race run every third Sunday in October in Detroit, Michigan, United States, and Windsor, Ontario, Canada, since 1978.
Pricing and registration details. Online registration for the Marathon, Adaptive Athlete, Marathon Relay, International Half-Marathon, The Wonder (International Half) and The Supreme will be open through 11:59 p.m. Sept. 9, 2024.
The next Detroit Free Press Marathon weekend will take place Oct. 18-20, 2024. The Marathon, International Half-Marathon, Motor City Half-Marathon and Marathon Relay take place on Sunday, Oct. 20. The 5K, 1-Mile, Kids Marathon and Meijer Little Detroit Dash happen on Saturday, Oct. 19.
