May 19, 2023 · Fishing Report. May 19, 2023. The lake still has a little ice. Mainly on the west shore. North boat ramp is open and ready. Please be aware we will be installing the marina docks this weekend which is done using the North boat ramp. The South ramp is open with out docks at this time and limited parking.
Diamond Lake has been stocked with tiger and brown trout. Anglers targeting brown trout have been doing fantastic lately with high catch rates and some great brown trout being caught (and released). These fish are intended to assist in controlling illegally introduced tui chub.

However, a fair number of 16-inch range trout have been being caught. Anglers should check with the Umpqua National Forest (541-498-2531) for information on camps and ramps.
Website. Angling is somewhat slow this spring, but those fishing in the early morning or evening seem to be doing better. Changing techniques can make the difference as well. There have been reports of a few larger browns and tigers being caught in excess of 26 inches.

Warmer weather is in the forecast so it might be a bit longer before anglers can safely venture on to the ice. Anglers should take every precaution when ice fishing. Once it freezes over, fishing should be productive.
