I downloaded the top few dictionary apps, turned off all wifi/data and launched them all for the first time. This one works offline (even the games; however, the pronunciation audio clips require an online connection), links to synonymous and antonymous words work effortlessly, and the app doesn't require you to register to use it (*ahem oxford*).
