  5. I think he developed a deep resentment of his youngest son who continued to create drunken legal issues even after he killed the girl. I don't understand the wife being killed but ( I've studied this so long I'm embarrassed to admit how much time I've spent on it) I think maybe he thought it was the only way that maybe he could salvage the family legacy and legal name.
