The Distillery District is a revitalized piece of Lexington history. It is home to the recently renovated James E. Pepper Distillery, as well as two modern bourbon distilleries, bars, breweries, restaurants, music venues, independent retailers and more.

- James E. Pepper Distillery. This Lexington staple first began distilling in 1779 during the American Revolution. However, it shut down during the 1960s when the bourbon industry experienced a recession.
