Honors Program Admission. First-year and transfer students are automatically considered for the Honors Program when they apply to the University, and, if accepted, are considered "Honors Eligible."
Founded in 1982, The University of Tampa’s Honors Program exists to enhance the education of high-achieving students. The Honors Program has a distinctive, Honors-only curriculum, a number of opportunities that are exclusively for Honors students, and provides a close-knit community of like-minded students.

Some social science courses are also taught by faculty in the College of Business. These courses are the only ones of their kind at the University of Tampa. An Honors Thesis is an original research project appropriate to the student’s field of study.
Sep 18, 2023 · News. Published: September 18, 2023. UT Honors Program Fall Symposia Series Returns for a New Year. The University of Tampa’s Fall 2023 Honors Program Symposia resumed earlier this month with a presentation by students from the Oxford Study Abroad program.
All applicants to the University are considered and undergo a holistic academic and character review. Full admissions requirements can be found here: https://www.ut.edu/academics/honors-program. Continuing students who earn a 3.5 GPA or better at the end of the first, second or third semester.
