  9. Set in small-town upstate New York, but clearly shot in California, Drowning Mona is the equivalent of the hit Showtime show Shameless if it was a 90-minute movie. Trashy, hick township with stereotypical hick characters but an engaging story from beginning to end and some genuinely funny moments.
