Duplin County (/ ˈ d uː p. l ɪ n / DOOP-lin) is a county located in the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of the 2020 census , the population was 48,715. [3] Its county seat is Kenansville .
Jan 26, 2024 · Located within easy access of I-95 and I-40, Duplin County includes the North Carolina towns of Kenansville, Wallace, Warsaw, and Beulaville. You might recognize Beulaville for Mike’s Farm but that wonderful place sits on the Onslow County side, with Swansboro and Jacksonville.
Originally a part of New Hanover County, Duplin was annexed and established on April 7, 1750, by the North Carolina General Assembly. Named in honor of a 1740s member of the Board of Trade and Plantations Sir Thomas Hays, Lord Duplin, the county is located in the coastal region of North Carolina.

Duplin County, located in the Coastal Plain region of North Carolina, was formed in 1750 from New Hanover County and named for Thomas Hay, Lord Duplin, a member of the English Board of Trade and Plantations.
