Eberhard III, Duke of Württemberg (16 December 1614 in Stuttgart – 2 July 1674 in Stuttgart) ruled as Duke of Württemberg from 1628 until his death in 1674.. Eberhard III became the heir under guardianship in 1628 during the Thirty Years' War at the age of 14 after the death of his father, Johann Frederick, 7th Duke of Württemberg.
Eberhard was the son of Count Ulrich I of Württemberg, who died a few weeks before his birth. His mother was Agnes of Silesia-Legnica , a daughter of Bolesław II Rogatka .  She probably died at his birth; some sources speak of a caesarean section .
After the death of Eberhard III on 16 May 1417, he became the ruler of all of Württemberg. At the time of his death on 2 July 1419, Eberhard's two sons, Louis, who would later become Count Louis I , and Ulrich, later Count Ulrich V , were only seven and six years old, respectively.
