Economics is the study of the allocation of scarce resources. The subject of this course is microeconomics, which examines the decision making of individuals and firms with regard to consumption, production, and allocation of good and services in a market system.
Completing your economics degree. The Economics Department at Princeton University prepares undergraduate students to excel in some of the most competitive technical job markets. In a typical year, more than 90% of our seniors accept job offers following graduation.
To graduate with an Economics degree, students must complete on a graded basis three core courses, five departmental electives, and two major pieces of independent research. Students must also pass a senior comprehensive exam.
Economics majors can choose from a variety of courses to develop a deep understanding of both the theoretical underpinnings of economics and its applications to a diverse set of issues ranging from monetary and trade policy to healthcare and environmental policy. Core courses and department electives. majors are required to take three core courses.
