    Ed Jurist was a writer on Bewitched and Tabitha. He wrote fifty-four episodes for Bewitched (1966-1972) and the original Tabatha Pilot episode (1976). He was also a producer for that episode.

    Edward Jurist was an American television producer and writer. He was born on April 8, 1916, in New Jersey.

    Jurist was a theater major at The University of Michigan. He established a career as a prolific television producer and writer. In 1949, he produced, directed and wrote "The Aldrich Family", one of the first situation comedies in television. In 1953, he produced and wrote "Colonel Flack". Working at Warner Brothers he continued to produce and write television series, including "Hawaiian Eye", "77 Sunset Strip" and "Room for One More". Later, at Screen Gems, he was one of the principal writers of "Bewitched" from 1964 to 1968, and he produced "The Flying Nun" from 1968 to 1970. He was a story consultant and writer on "One Day at a Time" (1980), "Maude" (1974), "Diff'rent Strokes" (1982-1985), and "Gimme a Break" (1986).
