Eddy, county, southeastern New Mexico, U.S., bordered on the south by Texas. Its western region is in the Sacramento section of the Basin and Range Province, a rugged area where the Guadalupe Mountains rise to more than 6,000 feet (1,800 metres).

Eddy County. Eddy County is located in Southeastern New Mexico. Around 25,000 BC, the people living in the area of Eddy County were relatives of “Sandia Man.” Nomadic hunters wondered the area, hunting buffalo and other game, over the next several thousand years.
Eddy County is a county located in the U.S. state of New Mexico. As of the 2020 census, the population was 62,314. Its county seat and largest city is Carlsbad. The county was created in 1891 and later organized in 1892. It is north of the Texas state line.
