The 1897 Poe House Museum is a historic house museum located in Fayetteville, North Carolina. It was constructed in 1897 by Josephine and Edgar Allen Poe Jr., the son of renowned author Edgar Allan Poe. The house was designed in the Queen Anne style and features intricate woodwork, stained glass windows, and a wrap-around porch.
As the docent very carefully explains, this home is not that of the famous author, Edgar Allen Poe. However, the home was built and inhabited by an E.A. and Josephine Poe in the late 1800's. It has been in the Poe family for many, many years, thus much of what you see is original to the house.

Encompassing more than four acres, the complex contains the 1897 Poe House, the Museum of the Cape Fear, and the Fayetteville Arsenal. I’m basically obsessed with the place – especially the Poe House.
