Edith Frank (née Holländer; 16 January 1900 – 6 January 1945) was the mother of Holocaust diarist Anne Frank and her older sister Margot. After the family were discovered in hiding in Amsterdam during the German occupation , she was transported to Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp .

In late 1933, Edith followed her husband to Amsterdam with Margot, and in February 1934, the family was reunited when Anne arrived. In March 1939, Edith’s mother also flew to Amsterdam, where she lived with the Frank family in Merwedeplein until her death in January 1942.
Subject. Edith Frank kept a baby picture book after the birth of her youngest daughter, in which she noted all sorts of things about Anne's health, appetite and growth. She continued to do this until 3 September 1929. After that, the book only functioned as a photo album.

The family lived in confined conditions and she struggled with the new language. She remained in contact with her family and friends in Germany through regular letters.
